SoloBand Back Stage

This Page Is Your Doorway To The Future

The term “soloband” is generic. Anyone, just like you, can be a professional solo band or one-man band, and play for fun and profit.

while a typrical SoloBand might be a single male performer playing a guitar, that performer could easily play bass, keyboard, be a female, or a duo team (like husband and wife etc). Just keep your working costs low enough to get hired.

My personal goal is to encourage as many musicians as possible to support their local communities by becoming local musicians.

Many people get caught by the lure of fame and fortune. But, look behind the curtain of lights and glamour and you’ll see five to ten years of hard slave labor for the music industry. Then you are tossed aside for the next big attraction. Once that happens, your music career is over. You can never return to being… just a local musician.

Personally, in the 1950s, after watching Elvis Presley’s “Loving You” movie, I understood how the music industry exploitation works. So, in my late teens, singing in a top night club, I was offered a golden opportunity and turn it down.

I thought getting married and raising a family would be more rewarding… I’ve never regretted that decision. Playing guitar, as a weekend local musician, has been my lifetime passion and pleasure for over 60 years .

SoloBand POST Collection

Did you know that the guitar started out as a pot bellied, four stringed, instrument that was plucked instead of strummed, or that Guitar strings were made by hand “biologically” before the 1780s industrial revolution.

After World War ll, the soldiers returned home ready to celebrate and party like crazy. This lead to the Boomer Generation. But, while they were still babies Elvis Presley became the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.

When Elvis Presley released his first Rock ‘n’ Roll movies in 1957 and 1958, A music revolution exploded around the world. Driven by an audience of youthful teens, the music industry was changed forever.

Traditionally, the music industry only focused on music for wealthy people (because they had money). When Rock’n’Roll (driven by guitar music) arrived… The music industry jumped on the band wagon.

If you want to play music instead of  listening to music. Then you first need to decide what instrument you want work with. The guitar is the most portable, versatile and affordable but there are still some rules to follow.

When people watch a band playing on stage, it is really exciting to watch… but how do they do what they do?
If you do it right, learning guitar can be simple, fast and fun and a lot easier than learning your ABCs

The first thing everyone learns about playing guitar is the basic 7 open chords. These easy to play chords are the foundation of guitar playing. A capo allows you to modify the pitch of a guitar to suit a singer’s vocal range.

When a guitar player creates a new song, it generally has only three chords. But, if the song is recorded, the music is sent to sheet music shops using classical conventions to reinterpret the song for pianos and other musicians.
